Xerox Extends Black-and-White Print Dominance with Productivity, Finishing Enhancements

ROCHESTER, N.Y., May 11, 2010 – Xerox Corporation (NYSE: XRX) continues to strengthen its position as the worldwide leader in digital black-and-white production printing, today unveiling a host of productivity and finishing enhancements for its award-winning Nuvera® portfolio.

“Xerox leads the worldwide high-end black-and-white market with more than 75 percent of all production class cut-sheet shipments," said Angele Boyd, IDC group vice president, imaging/output document solutions. “The company is well positioned to maintain or extend its leadership position by constantly upgrading its Nuvera family of devices.”

Xerox's Nuvera portfolio, spanning from 100 to 288 images per minute, delivers high-quality prints and increases productivity. The 10 new productivity improvements and finishing options are designed to streamline production and expand the scope of black-and-white printing jobs. By boosting the range of professionally finished applications that can be created – such as manuals, brochures, booklets and calendars – print providers can take on a wider range of jobs and move them quickly through the shop.

Among the new offerings are:

*Plockmatic Pro 30 Booklet Maker – provides an affordable 30-sheet booklet maker configured to produce professional-quality booklets at rated speed, including the option to add color covers and inserts.

*Dual Xerox Tape Binder – allows the print engine to utilize both finishers within the same job; users can alternate the delivery of print sets and unload while the job runs.

*C.P. Bourg High Capacity Elevator – assists users to easily offload finished material by raising the stack of paper to a constant level, enhancing productivity through ergonomics.

Additional features make it easier to tape bind, stack, stitch, fold, trim, cut and complete professionally finished documents.

Many of the new enhancements will be on display in the Xerox stand at IPEX 2010, Hall 7, May 18-25 in Birmingham, U.K.

Availability and pricing

The enhancements are compatible with select Xerox Nuvera models currently installed in graphic communications and in-plant environments. Contact a Xerox sales representative for additional information about upgrades.

The new offerings are available for order taking and installation starting on July 1. Availability and pricing may vary by geography.

New Xerox Wide Format Device Offers High-Speed Precision Printing; Ideal for Construction, Architectural and Engineering Firms

OCHESTER, N.Y. -- When printing engineering and architectural renderings or schematics, accurate printing can’t come at the cost of extra time. Enter Xerox Corporation’s (NYSE: XRX) new Xerox Wide Format 6622 ™ Solution that delivers sharp, precise detail printing at high speeds.

In addition to serving the needs of graphic communications providers, the wide format black-and-white digital printer, copier and scanner is ideal for reprographic departments within engineering, construction and architecture firms where technical drawings need to be easily accessible and replicated quickly. For example, government offices can use the 6622 Solution to print surveying documents and construction plans, giving home owners and contractors fast access to essential information.

The Xerox Wide Format 6622 Solution prints 22 D/A1 (24" x 36") prints-per-minute and offers crisp 600 x 1800 dpi printing and 600 x 600 dpi scanning options. An on-board color scanner can improve copies of worn originals – automatic background suppression makes smudges and creases less noticeable and tattered documents easier to read. Scans can be viewed on the color touch screen user interface before being printed, helping to verify quality, avoid mistakes and reduce wasted prints.

The 6622 device is driven by Xerox’s FreeFlow® Accxes® Print Server and can easily be incorporated into existing workflows. FreeFlow Accxes offers color calibration with other network printers, enhanced management of the print queues to easily replicate previous jobs and the capability to seamlessly scan documents to a mailbox on the print server, network FTP location or remote network printer.

The FreeFlow Accxes Print Server unifies the print server software across the entire Xerox wide format monochrome portfolio, allowing customers to have a seamless workflow.

The Xerox Wide Format 6622 Solution adds to the company’s robust line of wide format printers designed for technical printing, which includes the Xerox Wide Format 6604/6605™ Solution and the Xerox 6279™ Wide Format device.

Availability and pricing

The Xerox Wide Format 6622 Solution will be available in May with a U.S. list price starting less than $62,000. Availability may vary by geography; contact a Xerox sales representative or authorized Xerox dealer for more information. continue reading...

Xerox’s New Advanced Color Multifunction Printers Streamline Work; Boost Office Productivity

NORWALK, Conn. -- Xerox Corporation's (NYSE: XRX) most advanced color multifunction printers (MFPs) for offices, the WorkCentre® 7700 Series, can cut “paperwork” processes from hours to just minutes, helping law firms, financial institutions and healthcare organizations work faster and smarter.

With speeds up to 50 pages per minute (ppm) in color and up to 75 ppm in black and white, the MFPs handle everything from general office documents to high-volume color print jobs. They also manage multiple printing, copying, scanning and faxing tasks simultaneously without interruption for quick turnarounds. Accelerated document processing and the ability to produce high-end color prints means employees spend less time handling documents and more time serving customers.

The WorkCentre 7700 Series comes equipped with Xerox's Extensible Interface Platform® (EIP), a technology that can be used to create customized workflow applications. For example, hospital patient registration forms can be sent from the emergency room to the billing department by scanning and simply routing the document using the MFP’s touch screen.

“With advanced document management tools and professional color capabilities right at your fingertips, the WorkCentre 7700 Series makes easy work of complicated tasks,” said Rick Dastin, president, Global Product Delivery Group, Xerox Corporation. “These new MFPs can be customized to meet the specific workflow needs of individual users and workgroups – helping our customers get work done quicker than ever.”

Professional quality

  • 2400 x 2400 dpi output resolution combines with Emulsion Aggregate High Grade toner, which requires less toner per page to produce sharper color images than traditional toner, for superior image quality.
  • Built-in tools, like Xerox Standard Accounting, help monitor and control color costs.
  • Optional EFI Fiery print server, available for the entire WorkCentre 7700 Series, provides powerful graphic arts capabilities and accelerated print processing that routes jobs to appropriate devices.
  • Finishing options like 100-page stapling and C- and Z-folding makes it easy to handle complex tasks like booklet making in-house.

Reliable security

  • Full support for the IPv6 network security standard and an Image Overwrite feature that shreds data stored on the hard drive as part of routine job processing ensures customer information is safe.
  • Secure Print holds files in the print queue until a PIN is entered to release the documents to print.
  • Network Authentication restricts access to scan, e-mail and network fax features by validating user names and passwords prior to use.

Environmentally responsible

  • Meets the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s rigorous new ENERGY STAR® requirements.
  • Earth Smart print driver defaults can be set on the MFPs to include two-sided printing, proof print, no banner page, recycled paper and draft mode.
  • Part of Xerox’s Green World Alliance, a worldwide initiative to encourage customers to recycle or dispose of supplies in a manner that minimizes impact to the environment.

Availability and price
The WorkCentre 7700 Series color multifunction printers start at $24,100 U.S. List and are available immediately worldwide through Xerox direct sales, authorized sales agents and Global Imaging Systems.
